AM Sports ("we", "us", "our") is a private sports community platform operated by Dave Wyss, based in Madrid, Spain. You can contact us at dave@playamsports.com.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Dave Wyss is the data controller.

2. What data we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: your name and email address when you sign up or sign in with Google or email/password.
• Profile information: any optional profile details you choose to add.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: which pages and features you use within the app.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and device type.
• Log data: IP address and access timestamps, retained for security purposes.

Information from third parties

• If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, subject to your Google account privacy settings.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Create and manage your AM Sports account
• Display your name and profile within the community
• Send you notifications about matches, events, and announcements you have opted into
• Maintain records relevant to your group participation (attendance, match history)
• Respond to your support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the AM Sports service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, and improving the service.
• Consent: for push notifications and any optional communications — you can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation: where we are required to process data by applicable law.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — our infrastructure provider for authentication, database, and file storage (data processed within the EU where possible). See Firebase Privacy.
• Google Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage metrics only.
• Law enforcement — only if required by a court order or applicable law.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

8. Cookies

AM Sports uses only essential technical cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as dark/light mode). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the app from functioning correctly.

9. Push notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications about upcoming events and announcements. You can withdraw permission at any time through your browser or device settings.

10. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's privacy

AM Sports is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify members via the app when material changes are made. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
